BrightWeb is the private Bright Horizons employee intranet, while BrightPay Payslips, BrightPay eTime, and Bright Horizons Benefits Login are separate systems built for different tasks. This independent guide is not affiliated with Bright Horizons and does not replace the company’s internal support or employment policies.
Choose the destination before troubleshooting the account. A valid employee ID can be rejected when it is entered on the wrong page or in the username format required by another Bright Horizons application.
What is BrightWeb?
Bright Horizons identifies BrightWeb as the BHFS Employee Intranet and labels it for employees only. The company’s official website directory links employees to BrightWeb separately from its family, employer-benefit, and public career services.
BrightWeb is therefore the appropriate starting point for internal company information rather than family child-care records or employer-sponsored care benefits.
Public pages do not expose the full contents of the intranet, which is expected for an employee-only system. Employees may be directed there from other Bright Horizons resources when the controlling information belongs in an internal policy or workplace document.
Use BrightWeb for internal employee resources. Skip it when the immediate task is submitting time, opening a payslip, registering for Back-Up Care, or applying for a job.
Which portal matches your task?
The fastest route is determined by what the employee needs to do.
| Employee task | Appropriate route |
|---|---|
| Open the internal employee intranet | BrightWeb |
| View a payslip | BrightPay Payslips |
| Access the employee time system | BrightPay eTime |
| Use employer-sponsored care or education benefits | Benefits Login |
| Apply for a Bright Horizons job | Careers or candidate portal |
| Ask about a W-2 | Published employee payroll contact |
BrightPay Payslips and BrightPay eTime each have their own authentication screens. The Benefits Login serves programs such as child care, Back-Up Care, Elder Care, College Coach, and EdAssist and also offers account registration for eligible users.
Candidates should use the Bright Horizons careers site or candidate entry route rather than BrightWeb, which is designated for employees.
Simple choice. Large difference.
Why the username format changes
BrightPay Payslips instructs employees to enter only their Bright Horizons employee ID and specifically says not to add @brighthorizons.com. BrightPay eTime publishes the same employee-ID-only direction.
BrightWeb uses an organizational-account sign-in flow. Employees should follow the account format printed on the current BrightWeb authentication screen rather than carrying the BrightPay rule over to the intranet.
This produces a common wrong-page sequence:
- An employee signs in to BrightPay using the employee ID alone.
- The employee later opens BrightWeb.
- The shorter BrightPay username is reused.
- BrightWeb rejects the attempt.
- The employee assumes the password has stopped working.
The password may never have been tested against the correct BrightWeb account name.
Do this first: read the username instruction on the live page. Skip a password reset until the destination and required account format have both been confirmed.
Why BrightWeb redirects during sign-in
BrightWeb uses an organizational authentication process. The browser may move from the BrightWeb address to a Bright Horizons authentication page before returning the employee to the intranet. The authentication screen identifies itself as a Bright Horizons organizational-account sign-in.
A change in page layout is not automatically suspicious. The domain and page identity matter more than whether the sign-in screen looks identical to the intranet homepage.
Avoid bookmarking a long authentication address containing temporary routing information. Open the main BrightWeb destination from Bright Horizons’ website directory instead. This reduces the chance of returning to an expired sign-in path or a redirect that no longer points back to the intended resource.
One clean entry point is better.
JavaScript errors and blank pages
The Bright Horizons organizational sign-in page states that JavaScript is required. Bright Horizons’ benefits login also displays an error when JavaScript is unavailable and instructs users to enable it or use a browser that supports it.
This failure occurs before a normal account check can be completed.
Check the browser before changing the employee account:
- Use a current browser approved by the employer.
- Confirm that JavaScript is enabled.
- Test a private browsing session.
- Close older Bright Horizons tabs.
- Check whether a privacy extension blocks authentication scripts.
- Ask internal technology support about managed browser restrictions.
A private window may clear stale session data. It cannot activate an employee account or add BrightWeb permissions.
Do not disable employer-managed protections without authorization. Skip browser experimentation once the same error has been reproduced on an approved setup.
Expired password versus forgotten password
Bright Horizons provides a dedicated password-update page that asks for the account, old password, new password, and confirmation. That structure is designed for a user who knows the current password and needs to change it.
A forgotten password is different because the employee cannot supply the old value requested by the update page.
Use the recovery or help instructions shown through the employee’s current BrightWeb sign-in route. Do not use the Back-Up Care recovery page as a substitute; that page asks for the email associated with a separate Back-Up Care account.
The Benefits Login and its connected services operate their own registration and recovery processes. A reset there should not be assumed to change the BrightWeb organizational account.
Same employer branding does not mean one shared recovery system.
New employee access is a provisioning question
A new employee who cannot enter BrightWeb may not have a password problem at all.
The employee record, organizational account, or application access may not yet be available for the assigned role. Bright Horizons’ public pages do not publish a universal BrightWeb activation period covering every position, business unit, and country.
Ask the supervisor or authorized onboarding contact to verify:
- The employee ID
- The recorded start date
- The organizational account
- Expected BrightWeb eligibility
- Assigned role or access
- The correct regional process
Account authentication and application authorization are separate. A user may successfully enter another employee system while BrightWeb access remains unavailable.
Do not create a Benefits Login account as a BrightWeb workaround. The Benefits Login is for eligible Bright Horizons services and has its own registration process.
Payslip and eTime errors need separate checks
BrightPay Payslips and BrightPay eTime both request the employee ID without the company-domain suffix. Their pages also distinguish between shared and private devices as part of the sign-in experience.
When BrightWeb works but BrightPay does not, check the BrightPay page rather than changing the BrightWeb account format.
Confirm:
- The selected application is Payslips or eTime.
- The employee ID is entered in the format printed there.
- The assigned password is being used for that employee workflow.
- The employee is expected to have access to that system.
- The problem affects one application rather than every Bright Horizons service.
Do not call a payroll-record problem a BrightWeb outage. State which application rejected access and which task the employee was attempting.
Specific reports are resolved faster.
Benefits Login is for another audience
The Bright Horizons Benefits Login provides access to employer-sponsored services, including child care, Back-Up Care, Elder Care, College Coach, and EdAssist. Eligible users can sign in or register for an account through that service.
That account may be used by employees of many different organizations whose employers purchase Bright Horizons benefits. Those users are not necessarily Bright Horizons staff and would not receive BrightWeb access merely because they use a Bright Horizons benefit.
This distinction is central:
- A Bright Horizons employee may use BrightWeb.
- An employee of another company may use Bright Horizons Benefits Login.
- A person can potentially use both systems for different reasons.
- Credentials should not be assumed to transfer between them.
The public Help Center also concentrates on services such as Back-Up Care, EdAssist, and child-care access rather than the BrightWeb employee intranet.
Route internal intranet access through employee support, not a family-benefit recovery article.
Payroll, W-2, and verification routes
Bright Horizons publishes a separate employee page for benefits and payroll contacts. It lists a benefits help-desk email, a W-2 hotline, and The Work Number as the route for employment and income verification.
Those functions should be separated from technical intranet access:
- A missing BrightWeb page is an access or technology issue.
- A missing payslip belongs to the payslip or payroll workflow.
- A W-2 question belongs to the published W-2 route.
- Employment verification belongs to the published verification provider.
- An EdAssist password belongs to the benefit recovery process.
Do not send employment records through a general child-care contact form. Use the task-specific route Bright Horizons publishes.
Frequently asked questions
Is BrightWeb the Bright Horizons employee intranet?
Yes.
Is BrightWeb the same as BrightPay?
No.
Where do employees view payslips?
BrightPay Payslips is the dedicated destination. Its current screen instructs employees to enter their employee ID without adding @brighthorizons.com.
Where do employees enter time?
BrightPay eTime has a separate sign-in page that also requests the employee ID without the company-domain suffix.
Can I use a Benefits Login account on BrightWeb?
The official pages present them as separate services with different purposes and account flows. Employees should not assume a benefits account will authenticate the BrightWeb organizational login.
Why does the page say JavaScript is required?
The authentication application needs browser scripting. Use an approved current browser, check blocking extensions, and contact internal technology support when managed settings prevent the page from operating.
What if the password-update page asks for my old password?
That page is intended for changing a known password. Use the appropriate employee recovery or help process when the current password is not known.
What should I verify before contacting support?
Name the exact application, follow the username rule displayed there, identify the visible error, and determine whether the issue affects BrightWeb, Payslips, eTime, or Benefits Login.
